Mission
Institute for CAM Studies degree programs at Akamai University was created as a framework to support a variety of educational levels dedicated to promote complementary and alternative medicine practice, research and education.
The CAM Institute was established under the leadership of Dr. Mary Jo Bulbrook, Energy Medicine Partnerships. Dr. Bulbrook has a 50+ year academic career in major institutions in three countries with active international CAM practice, teaching and research.

Degree Awarding
Akamai University awards the degree that is compliant with criteria required by AU’s international accrediting body and the laws of Hawaii where the University is located. AU is celebrating 19 years of excellence in service and has primer service award recently reaffirmed July, 2018 – 2023 after another on-site visit by the accreditors. WHO Director-General, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and a group of WHO senior officials met with representatives of civil society on 3 July, to discuss their priorities on traditional, complementary and integrative medicine, in the lead up to the WHO Traditional Medicine Global Summit on 17 and 18 August 2023 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India."
