Please Help Nurses and Victims of Category 4 Hurricane Ian that Impacted Florida, South Carolina, and North Carolina On Friday, September 30th, Hurricane Ian made landfall in Southwest Florida as a category 4 hurricane, with additional impacts over the following days across Florida, South Carolina, and North Carolina. These areas are in the process of active clean-up, search, and recovery. ANA sends our deepest sympathy and wants to support all nurses personally and professionally impacted by this tragedy and their families. As nurses and communities recover from the devastating effects, here are some ways you can help. Volunteer opportunities: To volunteer, learn about eligibility in the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster. In addition please consider donating to the American Red Cross to provide valuable aid needed for those impacted. Mental health support: For crisis counseling, SAMHSA's Disaster Distress Helpline is available 24 hours a day to provide confidential support to those experiencing emotional distress.
